Navy Admirals Visit IDEELab and Hall School of Mechanical Engineering

October 21, 2024

The IDEELab at Mississippi State University's Hall School of Mechanical Engineering was honored to host two U.S. Navy admirals and members of the Navy's prestigious Naval Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC) Program for the university’s inaugural Navy Day Expo (October 18-19). This event, a collaboration between IDEELab and the U.S. Navy NUPOC Program, provided an exciting opportunity for our Mechanical Engineering students to engage with Vice Adm. Robert Gaucher and Rear Adm. Melvin Smith. The admirals introduced students to the Navy’s NUPOC program and explored cutting-edge defense technology at an exhibition near Davis Wade Stadium. We are grateful to the U.S. Navy for their support in shaping the leaders of tomorrow through meaningful engagement with our students.
