Congratulations to Dr. Heejin Cho, who was awarded tenure effective Fall 2019. Dr. Cho holds the TVA Professorship in Energy Systems and the Environment and serves as Associate Director of Graduate Research in the Institute of Clean Energy Technology (ICET). Dr. Cho’s research is primarily focused on the field of energy and the environment, specifically designing and optimizing energy and environmental systems for building and nuclear applications. Collaborating with researchers at MSU and other organizations, he has secured about $14.9M in energy and environment research grants from Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DoD), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and industry. Dr. Cho has 83 publications encompassing one book chapter, 36 journal articles, ten peer-reviewed reports, and 36 peer-reviewed conference publications. He has advised 26 M.S. and Ph.D. students. He is actively involved with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He serves as the faculty advisor for ASHRAE Mississippi State Student Branch since 2014.
