Askari selected to receive a SEC visiting faculty travel grant

September 9, 2019

Congratulations to Dr. Omid Askari, who has been selected to receive a Southeastern Conference (SEC) Visiting Faculty Travel Grant.  Dr. Askari will be visiting the Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department and Petersen Research Group (PRG) at Texas A&M University this fall.  During his visit, Dr. Askari will meet with faculty, researchers, and students in the ME department to talk about his current research on chemical kinetic development. His work will focus on novel oxygenated biofuels and combustion chemistry in near-limit combustion dynamics using low-temperature plasma.  Dr. Askari will also discuss with Dr. Eric Petersen and other PRG researchers, a plan to establish a long-term collaboration between both departments and institutions.

The SEC Visiting Faculty Travel Grant Program is intended to enhance collaboration that stimulates scholarly initiatives between universities. This program offers faculty members from each SEC university the opportunity to travel to other SEC universities to exchange ideas, develop grant proposals, and conduct research.
